Joseph Micalizzi Enters Chapter Eternal; Perpetrators Still At-Large, Reward Offered

Tau Kappa Epsilon is sad to report what Essex County Police have confirmed. Early this morning, Frater Joseph Micalizzi (Kappa-Eta) was tragically slain at his residence near the New Jersey Institute of Technology campus. He was pronounced dead at the University Hospital at 5:02 a.m. At this time, the perpetrators are still at-large.

We ask that you join us in supporting authorities in Essex County as they pursue justice for Frater Micalizzi. Essex County Sheriff Armando B. Fontoura’s Crimestoppers Program and the New Jersey Institute of Technology are each offering up to a $10,000 reward, totaling $20,000, for any information leading to an arrest and conviction of Joseph’s killer. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force at 1-877-TIPS-4EC or 1-877-847-7432.

Our thoughts are prayers continue to be with the Kappa-Eta chapter, NJIT campus, and Micalizzi’s friends and family. Rest in Peace, Frater.

Update (May 4 @ 9:05 ET): A GoFundMe page has been created to offset expenses left for the Micalizzi family. Please consider making a donation here
