TKE Earns Two Awards at 2016 FCA Annual Conference

Members of Tau Kappa Epsilon’s communications department traveled to Washington, D.C. last week to attend the 2016 Fraternity Communications Association Annual Conference. The three-day conference consisted of educational programming, networking opportunities and concluded with the 92nd FCA Recognition Banquet to celebrate the marketing and communication efforts of Greek organizations.

Tau Kappa Epsilon was presented with two awards at the banquet:

Communication – Printed Materials Educational (Third Place)
A Chapter & Colony Guide to Social Media

Judges comments:

“What a relevant guide for today’s chapter members. The san serif font is simple and modern. Photos add visual appeal and interest to this material. Numbering system is helpful and stands out among the other text. Examples, terminology and pull-outs such as on the Twitter account basics make this material accessible and ensure it will be used.”

“A great example of what contemporary design should be – content-driven while being attractive and easy to navigate.”

Magazine – Single Page Design (Third Place)
THE TEKE Magazine, Winter 2015, Expansion Corner “Work in Progress”

Judges comments:

“Photos are great, everything is nice, simple and appealing.”

“Great layout, and excellent use of white space.”

Chief Information Officer Alex Baker said of the recognition, "I'm extremely proud of the work done by our communications department to produce engaging content that is both aesthetically appealing and expertly written. Our quality of work through printed and electronically published materials is a testament to the talents and passion of our entire Professional Staff. I'd be remiss if I didn't thank the hundreds of individuals who have invested in the Life Loyal Teke program, spurring our ability to compete with other Greek-lettered organizations in the realm of marketing and communications."

Recently completed projects by the Fraternity's Professional Staff include the Official TKE App, TKE.org website redesign and ShopTKEHeritage online retail store.
