John K. Fabsits

Frater John Fabsits initiated in 2000 at the Xi-Eta Chapter (Missouri Western State University), where he served as Chapter Prytanis, Grammateus and Histor. His involvement in TKE continued long past his collegiate years, having assisted restart the dormant Beta-Theta Chapter at the University of Missouri. As a volunteer, he has served in numerous leadership roles at Xi-Eta, Beta-Theta and Upsilon-Rho chapters, including Chapter Advisor, House Advisor and Board of Advisors member. He also served as a Province Advisor. Prior to rejoining the Grand Council, John served as the Housing Corporation Chair for the Beta-Theta Chapter.
Often serving as a facilitator, he has attended Province Forums, Alumni Volunteer Academy, Regional Leadership Conferences, and Conclaves. He currently serves on the TKE External Affairs and Risk Management Committees as a member of the Grand Council.
John is a Life Loyal Teke Charter Member, past Volunteer of the Month, Key Leader Award, Apollo Award recipient, 40 under 40 award with the TKE Foundation.
Frater Fabsits is a lifelong donor to the TKE Foundation and has taken an active role as a Foundation Ambassador. He has also served on the Advancement Committee and Scholarship Committee.
John has dedicated his career to impacting the lives of youth and families in the Boy Scouts of America, serving in numerous roles. He currently is the Scout Executive/CEO for the Boy Scouts of America, Great Rivers Council, where he directs the operations and administration working alongside staff and the board of directors that provide the leadership development, character building programs of Scouting for youth across central Missouri. He is a Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP). He is an Eagle Scout, Vigil Honor, James E. West Fellow and been recognized as a Top 50 Executive.
He has a passion for serving the community. He has been active with organizations and boards over the years including the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, Emerging Professionals in Columbia, Rotary, Optimist Club, The Union Club of Cleveland, Hugh O’Brian Youth Foundation, Missouri Western State University Alumni Association, and the Jaycees.
John and his wife Izzy Leatherman reside in Columbia, Missouri. In their free time they enjoy traveling, concerts and spending time at Mizzou football and basketball games.
