Back in Boise: Nu-Eta Returns to BSU!

In the Spring of 1949 a local fraternity, Pi Sigma Sigma, became the first fraternity to form at Boise State College.  Their purpose to allow the opportunity for more men to participate in the organized activities of the college, and their mission was engrained in Pep, Spirit, and Service. In the Spring of 1969 the men of Pi Sigma Sigma voted to affiliate with a National organization in order to reap the benefits of a larger, more established brotherhood.  Subsequently in 1970, with a membership of 39 men, Pi Sigma Sigma became chartered as the Nu-Eta chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon.  Unfortunately the chapter was forced to close in 1990 due to membership standards.  At the time of closing, the Chapter had initiated 228 men.

This Fall, after nearly 20 years, TKE will return to Boise State. We will offer a unique opportunity for student-leaders on campus, while creating a positive fraternal environment for those aiding in rebuilding our Nu-Eta chapter. During the months of August and September, the TKE Professional Staff will be seeking the best men on campus to be Founders of the newest group in TKE Nation.  TKE is the world's largest collegiate social fraternity with over 270 groups in North America.  We believe the true purpose of Fraternities has too long been overshadowed by misinterpreted social aspects of its organizations. We are sure most men have all kinds of wild ideas about fraternities simply based on the stereotypes in the media today.  This is why Tau Kappa Epsilon is seeking to Re-define Fraternity across the nation.  In returning to Northern Arizona University, we are excited to start a group that is focused on our true purpose:  Being better men, and in doing so, building better communities and a better world.

In order to accomplish this, Tau Kappa Epsilon will be seeking morally-grounded men who are invested in their campus and community and who will ultimately be invested in Tau Kappa Epsilon as valued alumni.  These men will be the backbone and foundation for creating an organization on campus which will impact men for years to come, and thereby leave their lasting legacy at BSU.

When rebuilding the chapter at BSU, Tau Kappa Epsilon will foster an environment which will assist our members in enhancing their knowledge, developing skills, clarifying values, and providing service to others. This group of men will be challenged to serve as role models for other campus organizations-setting higher standards for not only the entire Greek community, but the campus as a whole.

This will be done through a structured member education focused on:
* Personal Growth through self-discovery and reflection
* Instilling civic and social responsibility
* Creating cross-cultural and global awareness
* Aiding ethical and moral development
* Promoting servant leadership

As Re-Founding Fathers of TKE, our members are challenged in various leadership roles, arming them with skills that will carry over to their professional and personal lives after college.
