St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, founded by Frater Danny Thomas (Gamma-Nu, Univ. of Toledo), is leading the way the world understands, treats, and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food—because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since its opening. They won’t stop until no child dies from cancer. Because the majority of St. Jude funding comes from individual contributors and partners like Tau Kappa Epsilon, St. Jude has the freedom to focus on what matters most – saving kids regardless of their financial situation. St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.

The Alzheimer's Association

At the 2001 Conclave in New Orleans, the Grand Chapter adopted the Alzheimer's Association as an official TKE philanthropy. The Alzheimer's Association is a national network of chapters committed to finding a cure and helping those affected by the disease. The Fraternity has partnered with the Ronald and Nancy Reagan Research Institute, which was established in 1995, one year after Frater Reagan announced to the world that he had Alzheimer's. Since then, TKE has raised more than $350,000 and even more for the local chapter's of the Alzheimer's Association.

American Cancer Society

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer through research, education, advocacy, and service.

American Diabetes Association

The American Diabetes Association is the nation’s leading nonprofit health organization providing diabetes research, information, and advocacy. Founded in 1940, the American Diabetes Association conducts programs in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, reaching more than 800 communities. The mission of the organization is to prevent and cure diabetes, and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. To fulfill its mission, the American Diabetes Association funds research, publishes scientific findings, provides information and other services to people with diabetes, their families, health care professionals, and the public, as it advocates for scientific research and for the rights of people with diabetes.

American Red Cross

The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization led by volunteers that provides relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.

This organization was created by Frater Shimmy Mehta, who developed it from the TKE Challenge for Pediatric AIDS. @ngelwish makes it simple and rewarding to grant the wishes of children living with HIV/AIDS throughout the United States.

Autism Speaks U

Autism Speaks U, an initiative of Autism Speaks, is a program designed for college students across the country who host awareness, advocacy and fundraising events. Autism Speaks has grown into the nation's largest autism science and advocacy organization. It is dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families. BACCHUS/GAMMA

The BACCHUS Network is a university and community based network focusing on comprehensive health and safety initiatives. It is the mission of BACCHUS to actively promote student and young adult based, campus and community-wide leadership on healthy and safe lifestyle decisions concerning alcohol abuse, tobacco use, illegal drug use, unhealthy sexual practices and other high-risk behaviors. Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, www.bbbsa.org, is the nation's oldest and largest youth mentoring organization. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training is the world's largest endurance sports training program. White Ribbon Campaign

In 1991, a handful of men in Canada decided they had a responsibility to urge men to speak out about violence against women. Wearing a white ribbon would be a symbol of men's opposition to violence against women. With only six weeks of preparation, 100,000 men across Canada wore a white ribbon, while many others were drawn into discussion and debate. The White Ribbon Campaign (WRC) is the largest effort in the world of men working to end violence against women (VAW). In over fifty-five countries, campaigns are led by both men and women, even though the focus is on educating men and boys. In some countries it is a general public education effort focused on ending violence against women.

Founded on January 10, 1899, Tau Kappa Epsilon is one of the largest collegiate men’s social fraternities in North America with over 301,000 initiated members and 216 active chapters. TKE’s mission is to aid men in their mental, moral and social development for life. With nearly 12,000 collegiate members, Tau Kappa Epsilon contributes to the advancement of society through the personal growth of our members, and service to others.
