INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The annual report and award application processes are both worthwhile and rewarding experiences. You'll learn more about yourself and chapter as you work through the procedure. The preparation and effort you put into this process will serve you well when applying to graduate or professional school, or entering the job market.

If you are curious about one of these awards, take a look at the eligibility requirements and selection criteria. Talk to your local advisors and the TKE professional staff if you have questions. If you are eligible, interested and are prepared to put in the necessary work, go for it. In the words of one of the Top Teke Chapters of 2007, "there are no guarantees--except that if you do not apply, you are guaranteed not to receive an award."

What are the chapter awards available?

5. Excellence in Achievement - Academic Success
6. Excellence in Achievement - Extracurricular Activities

If your chapter meets the minimum requirements for at least 4 of the 6 Excellence Awards, your chapter will be considered for recognition as Top TKE Chapter. The application is due May 15.

Chapters and colonies that do not meet the minimum requirements for an Excellence Award may apply for Honorable Mention. Apply.

When a chapter makes significant improvement in the areas evaluated by the Awards program, it may be considered for the Most Improved Chapter award. The application is due May 15. Apply.

Annual Report

The Black Book requires each chapter and colony to complete an Annual Report prior to May 15. Please use the TKE Maintenance Module to complete your report. You can also download a copy of the report if you want to review it prior to completing the on-line version: 2007-08 (pdf).

Chapter Statement Confusion

Several members have been calling the Offices of the Grand Chapter confused about why chapter statements, seen in the membership maintenance module, reflect new members being paid for but not when they are paid in the new member section. As of right now, when you pay in the new member section the payment is taken, verified by the accounting department and then manually updated for the membership maintenance module. This is not fed automatically. With the high volume of payments during the end of the year, some payments will not be shown for 2 to 3 business days. Don't be alarmed by this. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your regional director.
