Leadership Academy Graduates Sixty Fraters

BEACH LAKE, Penn. - The Charles R. Walgreen, Jr. TKE Leadership Academy XXII came to a close Monday evening. More than 60 graduates and facilitators gathered around a brotherhood fire at Trails End Conference Center to end their five day journey. "You, Me, T.K.E." was the theme of the cornerstone leadership development program and participants dove into experiential and classroom style training from Saturday to Monday.

Saturday concentrated on "You - Mental Development." During the day, Fraters listened to speakers and facilitators concentrating how develop themselves as person. The thought being to be an effective leader, you must first know yourself - Challenging each man to look inside for answers to some of life's toughest answers.

"What an excellent learning experience," said Frater Nick Kirchmar (Zeta-Zeta, Univ. of Wisconsin-Milwaukee). "There was so much information and instruction given, I can't wait to explain it all when I return to my chapter. I feel privileged to have been here. I encourage all my fellow Fraters to apply in the years to come."

"You & Me" worked on moral development and was the theme for Sunday. Many talk about living by a moral code, but how many actually follow that when times or circumstances are difficult? This day was dedicated to ensuring Fraters don't hesitate to respond to situations in the right manner. Building on principles learned Saturday, facilitators once more pushed attendees to challenge the norm with more classroom style instruction and outdoor activities.

Monday, Fraters brought the learning full circle with Social Development, the third element of You, Me, T.K.E.
