Clemson Staff and TKE Member Honored at Year End Meeting

CLEMSON - The year-end gathering of faculty and staff at Clemson University showcased the contributions of some individuals, of particular interest to the TKE Nation Frater Michael Steele (Rho-Alpha, Withrop Univ.) was recognized.

University housing staff member Frater Michael (an LLT member since 2003 and Grand Council Society Member) is the area coordinator for the fraternity and sorority residence halls and received the Frank A. Burtner Award for Excellence in Advising. Frater Steele was nominated for his role as advisor to Tau Kappa Epsilon and also serves as adviser to the National Residence Hall Honorary. In his role as an area coordinator in university housing, he serves an adviser and mentor to the hundreds of students living in his residence halls.

The award honors Frank Burtner, who served Clemson University for many years as a professor and student organization adviser. The annual award is given for contributions to student development in leadership, devotion to duty and service to students.

Frater Michael has been an active volunteer for TKE since becoming an alumnus attending Conclave in 2001 and Regional Leadership Conferences as a facilitator in 2008 and 2009. His role as a Chapter Advisor to the Sigma-Psi Chapter has been vital to the chapter's recent resurgence on the campus of Clemson University.

The Offices of the Grand Chapter applaud Frater Michael on his accomplishments and look for continued success into the future.
