Give a Day, Get Something
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – How cool would it be to see hundreds of Tekes at Walt Disney World or Disneyland? There is an opportunity to do just this by signing up for Disney’s latest Promotion - Give a Day, Get a Disney Day. Even if you live or are at school far away from either of these theme parks, this would be a great road trip in the summer or for Spring Break. In addition, you would be helping out great causes and giving back, something central to being a Frater in TKE.
The program is pretty simple. It all works in three steps:

- Volunteer
- Redeem & Celebrate
Disney wants to inspire one million people to volunteer a day of service to a participating organization in their communities. So they're celebrating these volunteers' good works by giving each a 1-day, 1-theme park ticket to the Disneyland® Resort or Walt Disney World® Resort, FREE. After you participate, let TKE know what you did by
email and recording it in the
Membership Maintenance Module.
You may only sign up a maximum of eight (8) additional members of “your household.” So, if everyone in the chapter wants to do something to qualify for this promotion, each such person will have to sign up separately for the same eligible volunteer activity as long as volunteer spaces are available. If you have a chapter of 40 men, you will need to complete five (5) service projects or volunteer activities to all get a ticket.
There are tons of opportunities available on their website and all you need to do is provide your zip code to find one that looks like fun. In the 2008-09 academic year, Fraters provided more than $786,000 to charities, 257 chapters completed at least one service event and 196 chapters raised $25 per man. So, as you can see there is a definite need to keep moving forward so we can eclipse the $1 million dollar mark and get all chapters and colonies to do at least one event. How does the "Give a Day. Get a Disney Day." program work?
"Give a Day. Get a Disney Day." is a program that celebrates and inspires volunteerism. Disney is working with HandsOn Network to bring you amazing volunteer opportunities to which you can lend your much-needed services. As a way of thanking you for your good work, we'll give you a free ticket good for one day admission to a Walt Disney World® or Disneyland® theme park.
You may sign up for the program only from this site. As part of the sign up process, you will search and select from a list of eligible volunteer opportunities with participating organizations. After you sign up and complete your chosen volunteer activity, and the HandsOn Network has verified your service, you will receive an email from Disney prompting you to log in to your account and print a vouchers that may be redeemed for your free ticket to a Walt Disney World® or Disneyland® theme park.
Can I search for and select a volunteer opportunity outside the zip code in which I live?
Yes. When you enter your zip code at the time of your volunteer opportunity search, you will be presented with valid opportunities in and around your community. However, you may volunteer for any of the available opportunities that are listed by HandsOn Network within the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. Simply enter the zip code around which you would like to see results.
How do I sign up for the program once I find a volunteer opportunity?
Once you find a volunteer opportunity through this site with the specific date and time that works best for you and your household, just click the opportunity to sign up.
