RLC Season Starts With a Bang

Fraters Pose with International SweetheartINDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A record 229 Fraters drove from around the TKE Nation to Indianapolis for the first of five Regional Leadership Conferences. The attendance was the second largest in history, only St. Louis in 2004 beat that number with 249 members. Learning and networking with fellow Fraters representing Region 2 (South) and 3 (Midwest), the buzz around the Circle City was deafening.

Grand Grammateus Bob Barr (Beta-Sigma, Univ. of Southern California) and Grand Pylortes Dr. Jim Hickey (Zeta-Alpha, Wagner College) welcomed the historic crowd sharing their experiences with collegiates and alumni alike. Frater Barr addressed the group during the Saturday evening banquet, telling them about the importance of learning from our rich heritage to push forward in the future.

“Do you think our Founders ever imagined how great we have become? Every day we are writing history and it is imperative we show the world what this organization is about,” Frater Barr said. “We are a remarkable Fraternity built on a foundation that will never crack as long as we continue to share it with men of great character.”

Sessions aimed to facilitate conversation among members of various chapters and colonies started Friday with Round-ups and continued Saturday all day. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive and looks to continue this week in Kansas City. Frater Donnie Aldrich (Director of Programs) said the facilitators are ready to go this week.

“We have a dynamic group of alumni and collegiate members from all around each region working with attendees to maximize their potential. Recruitment, risk management, communication, member education, and so many other choices allow members to ‘choose their own adventure’. These all aim to create and improve chapters so all of them can become Top Teke.”

This weekend the RLCs shift to Kansas City with Fraters exchanging ideas, working together, and re-igniting the passion for this organization. It’s not too late to secure your spot for an upcoming conference. Gather up your members and make a road trip to an RLC near you.
