TKE Housing Day

TKE Housing Day

Inaugural Winners Beta-Epsilon ChapterINDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Housing is an important part of the fraternity experience. Unfortunately, it does not meet our current member’s expectations and those of our recruits. Good housing can serve as a tool for recruitment, retention and lead to a more complete fraternity experience. TKE Housing Day is a day to emphasize the importance of routinely improving our houses or housing situations.

This event is an opportunity to invite your active members, alumni, and parent groups to come to the chapter house, donate their time, energy, expertise, and money to improve the existing residence, or fundraise for housing. If there is not a possibility of housing on your campus, it would be a fantastic opportunity to spend a day with Habitat for Humanity and build your service hours.

The inaugural competition was won last year by Beta-Epsilon Chapter at Trine University. They hung new letters and painted the house, while other BE members worked inside to upgrade the facility. The Grand Prize, a $1,000 gift card to Home Depot, was awarded for their efforts.

The 2010 edition calls on chapters and colonies to continue this effort. Please look at all of the documents for this competition, including: Housing Day Application, Housing Day Planning Guide, and Ideas for Projects.

Still not sure if you want to participate? Does a $1,000 gift card Grand Prize or other gift cards for runner-ups sound good? I know I could use one. Get more information by emailing Tyler Baker, Housing Coordinator or taking a look at the tke.org website.
