Arizona State's Alex Adams Wins 2011 TKE International Sweetheart

2011 TKE Sweetheart Alex AdamsINDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Tau Kappa Epsilon Offices of the Grand Chapter is proud to announce the winner of the 2011 TKE International Sweetheart - Miss Alex Adams. This was one of the most hotly contested finals in recent history with only a few votes separating first from second. This Delta Zeta member at Arizona State University was notified very recently about the selection.

"My jaw dropped and I began jumping up and down," said Miss Adams. "I couldn’t believe it."

A sophomore at ASU, Adams studies Broadcast Journalism in the Walter Cronkite School and maintains a 3.88 Grade Point Average. She seeks a degree to become a reporter at a major entertainment television network, hosting her own show down the road. Her passion for meeting people and creating relationships first attracted her to this industry. And the ability to have a different challenge each day continues to fuel her desire.

"It is very fast paced and cut-throat. I can’t imagine myself doing the same thing every day and sitting in a cubicle. I love meeting new people and figuring out what makes them tick."

Being a part of Delta Zeta has been a big part of her personal development since joining in Fall 2009. This is also how she was introduced to the gentlemen of TKE. One way the fraternity has impacted her is learning how to break out of her shell.

"The hardest adjustment for me coming to ASU was branching out beyond my boundaries. I had to show a certain amount of vulnerability to create those new relationships. Delta Zeta mirrors the fraternity in the sense that we all have our own unique qualities and this forces you to learn how to interact with a diverse group for the future."

Miss Alex Adams is a terrific ambassador and the entire TKE Nation congratulates her on receiving this honor. She will be crowned at the 2011 Conclave in San Antonio, Texas. If you would like to learn more about the biennial convention, please go to tke.org or contact us.

Founded January 10, 1899 at Illinois Wesleyan University, Tau Kappa Epsilon is the world’s largest social fraternity with chapters on more than 280 campuses in the United States and Canada. TKE has initiated more than 255,000 men since its founding. The Fraternity aims to build better men for a better world.
