We all think, 'it won’t happen to us, that’s the other guys.' Unfortunately, this is not the case. It can and will happen to you if the proper precautions are not instituted. We are not asking you to stop all fun activities, but as you begin the year it is a good idea to take a look at the TKE Risk Management Guidelines and Crisis Communication Plan (Don’t have one? Email us). You can also form your Crisis Team and review the Incident Report Form (both included in the CCP).
There are several times during the year when your risks go up. Those are starting school, initiation, winter break, spring break, finals and summer break. You can look at all the numbers, but we don’t want your chapter or you to become a statistic. Here are some quick items to help you start the process.
Doing these things and educating yourself on what TKE has available will help you tackle difficult issues. As always, if you need more information or have questions, TKE is an email or phone call away.
