Do I know You?

You say you are doing great service, raising funds for good causes, and are involved in other student activities, but are you? Unless we have it documented, we don’t know. It is vital that you fill out involvement reports on the Membership Maintenance Module which includes all of these areas and more. Doing so also helps us share with others the great things you have and are doing. If you are unsure whether your chapter has filled it out, ask one of the officers. If they are unsure, then it probably hasn’t happened. You can either contact your Grand Province Advisor or a member of the Regional Team on the OGC Staff (all listed in the Membership Maintenance Module) to help knock this out.

One of the other things often overlooked is registering your candidates. Ask your Hegemon if this has been done. It is a very simple process. By clicking here you can be directed to that page. Most chapters bring a laptop or go to a computer and have each candidate go through the online form in the first new member meeting. This gets it out of the way and also ensures they can get the proper materials (new member pin, Teke Guide, and other items) right away. In addition, they are then covered under TKE’s insurance policy.      

The Chapter’s Insurance is due next month. If the chapter can pay your bill by September 30, a 10% rebate will be posted to your statement. Your Annual Membership Fee is due October 1^st. You can either pay in full for the year ($150/ man) or have two installments ($90/ man x 2). As you can see, it is a better deal to pay this annually. Are the chapter’s and your address correct? Has your email changed? It is important to make sure TKE has all of your correct contact information. We want to make sure everyone receives The TEKE Magazine, TKE Emails, and we can communicate with you on a regular basis. TKE will never abuse or sell your confidential information.

There aren’t many people who like discussing taxes, but every chapter MUST fill out a simple Form 990 to ensure your tax status remains the same. The deadline to fill out this form is October 15. You can either contact your Grand Province Advisor, Province Advisor, a member of the Regional Team on the OGC Staff, or any local level volunteer (all listed in the Membership Maintenance Module) to help knock this out.
