TKE Shines at Star Awards

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Tau Kappa Epsilon earned two awards at the annual Indiana Society of Association Executives Star Awards Thursday evening. The recognition comes as a direct result of the collective efforts in the TKE Nation. Conclave in San Antonio, Texas was the Best Convention winner. In addition, the astonishing statistics wowed judges in the Best Community Philanthropic Program. This is the first time TKE's biennial organization-wide conference was identified as number one and the second time in five years for the Fraternity's charitable efforts.

Best Convention

While numbers and percentages were impressive for Conclave 2011, the community service aspect is what set TKE apart from others in the category. The Fraternity was up against very stiff competition from Indiana's plethora of assocations and non-profits, but rose to the top because of you. Being recognized in this way is a direct Thank You to all Fraters who worked so hard to make it happen and those who attended. We can make it back-to-back with an even better turnout and community service work in 2013 when Tekes will take over the nation's capitol. We hope to see you all at the 2012 Regional Leadership Conferences and at Conclave 2013 in Washington, D.C.

Best Community Philanthropic Program

Better Men for a Better World has quickly become a culture as opposed to merely words. Each of YOU have made this happen. Whether on your campus, community or beyond, the TKE Nation has had a dramatic impact on improving the lives of others. This was evidenced by more than 250,000 hours of community service and nearly a million dollars donated to philanthropies in 2010-11 (Take a look at the latest The TEKE Magazine). Once again, it is because of you that we have been recognized in this manner. Let's keep the momentum moving forward this year by recording your events on the Membership Maintenance Module. As the Fraternity continues its excellence, we are reminded of the Founders' vision for TKE. They are certainly looking down at us today and smiling.
