INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Sweet Six are in, finalists for the 2012 TKE International Sweetheart Scholarship. Voting is now open. Take a look at those who may be representing the TKE interfraternally in the upcoming school year. Finalists have been notified with a formal letter, along with their affiliate organization, and institution. In alphabetical order, here are your finalists.

Deeanna Bouchard
Mu-Chi (Univ. of North Carolina-Wilmington)
Member of Alpha Phi
Major: Clinical Psychology - 3.0 GPA 
Deeanna is very active with her sorority Alpha Phi, currently serving as President. She has also served as director of administration for her chapter. She is also a part of Woman’s Studies Association, Order of Omega, and is a Nurse Aide. In addition, she actively volunteers for Bedford Presbyterian Church Mission Trips and Young at Heart Student Social (at UNCW). She seeks a degree to work in the Clinical Research field.

 

 



 

Jenny DiMasi
Nu-Iota (Univ. of Illinois-Chicago)
Member of Phi Sigma Sigma
Major: Nursing - 3.51 GPA 
Jenny is very active with her sorority Phi Sigma Sigma, currently serving as Secretary. She has also served as Panhellenic delegate. In addition, she actively volunteers as a Certified Nurses Assistant at a retirement home, regularly hands out food at a local food bank and teaches kids to skate a local arena. She seeks a degree to work as a Registered Nurse.

 

 
 

                                                
 

Gillian Marie Fontana
Upsilon-Mu (New York Institute of Technology)
Member of Alpha Sigma Tau
Major: Communication Arts – 4.0 GPA 

Gillian is very active with her sorority Alpha Sigma Tau, previously serving as publicist/editor, social chair, housing director, and risk management director. She has also served as programming director for the Student Government Association. In addition, she actively volunteers for Habitat for Humanity, light the night (cancer research), soup kitchens and Relay for Life. She is a first semester graduate student in Communication Arts with a focus in Public Relations & Marketing and wants to own a event planning business in the future.

Member of Alpha Phi
Major: Strategic Communications - 3.1 GPA 
Elizabeth is very active with her sorority Alpha Phi, currently serving as Vice President of Marketing & Communications. She has also served as New Member Educator and Event Coordinator for Annual Red Dress Gala. In addition, she actively volunteers for Boys & Girls Club of America, Make-a-Wish Foundation, and OWL – Student Move-in Leader. She seeks a degree to work in the Communications field.
 

 

        
 

Elise Van Vuren
Alpha-Gamma (Washington State Univ.)
Member of Kappa Delta
Major: Psychology - 3.8 GPA 
Elise is very active with her sorority Kappa Delta, currently serving as Vice President of Operations and is the Panhellenic President. She has also served as Vice President of Community Service for the chapter. In addition, she actively volunteers for Shirts Across America on the Executive Council and does a number of projects each year in New Orleans (since Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005). She seeks a degree to become a business/ non-profit owner.

 

 

         
 

Maria Jean Willett
Upsilon-Xi (Oakland Univ.)
Member of Gamma Phi Beta
Major: Political Science - 3.2 GPA 
Maria is very active with her sorority Gamma Phi Beta, currently serving as Social Chair. She has also served as a supervisor of Oakland University’s Housing Department, OU Student Congress, Vice President of OU Democrats and Vice President of Phi Alpha Delta (Honorary Society). In addition, she actively volunteers for Circle K (Kiwanis), Flushing Kids Running Club, Shelby Township Summer Olympics and Walk/Run for the American Heart Association. She seeks a degree to become a Civil Rights Lawyer.
