Fraters Dance the Night Away

Fraters Dance the Night Away

Fraters from Pi-Epsilon Chapter at Christian Brothers University, along with members of Zeta Tau Alpha, gathered at Trezevant Manor Retirement Community to help with the third annual Senior Prom. The retirement community's residents were joined by CBU students to dance to classic hits played by Captain Phil McGee's One-Man Band in Trezevant's lobby.

Since Trezevant recently achieved flagship status by the National Arthritis Foundation, one of their key objectives is to ensure that the community's residents maintain a level of activity that promotes movement, emotional and physical well-being.

"The residents look forward to this event each spring," said Obie Sue Thomas, director of resident services at Trezevant. "This annual event brings the young and young at heart together to share in a good time -- and learn some new dance moves as well."

The residents taught the college students dances such as the Charleston while the students taught residents dances like the Wobble.

"We're so glad this event has become a regular tradition around here," says Rinnie Wood, fitness director at Trezevant. "It's good for our residents, and it's clear from the smiles on their faces that this is one of their favorite events each year."

Frater David Vaughn (center) joins other organizers to celebrate the success of this year's Senior Prom.

The CBU students agree. "The Senior Prom at Trezevant has been one of my favorite events we have done since I joined ZTA," says Angela Williams, CBU collegian and ZTA member. "I want to see this become a tradition for ZTA and TKE for many years to come."
