Chapter Module Explained
A month ago, Tau Kappa Epsilon announced the new chapter module, an officer and volunteer portal that replaced the TKE Membership Maintenance Module. Many asked 'why we are changing?' The simple answers are ease of use, expanded functionality and integration of our database system. Other questions consisted of how to claim an account, how to navigate the system and what the home screen was, to name a few.
First and foremost, EVERYONE must claim your account. Even if you had one in the old Membership Maintenance Module, you MUST claim your account.
How to Claim Your Account
The first thing you need to do is go to module.tke.org. This screen asks you for a username and password, but because you haven't logged in before you need to claim your account. Where it says "Claim Your Account Here" area under the Login button, click "here" to get started. You will be prompted to answer a series of questions to identify who you are and then, once completed, you'll be asked to create a password. Be sure you keep this in your records for when you want to login again.
One thing to keep in mind when claiming your account is how you registered for TKE when becoming a new member. For example, did you put Thomas or Tom? This makes a difference. In addition, you may not have entered a birthday or it was given to us wrong. These can preclude you from claiming your account. However, if you contact us, we can help.
New Member Registration
First and foremost, it is the responsibility of the Prytanis, Grammateus, Crysophylos or Hegemon to register the candidates. Once you have logged into the system click the "Member" button on the right hand side of the screen. This will take you to a page called "Membership Changes" where you need to select "Submit Candidates." It will then give you the option to enter a new member. Once clicked, it will give you a page where information about the candidate needs to be inserted. First Name, Last Name, Email Address and Phone Number must be filled out to continue the process. That said, we would like as much information as you have available. Once you have completed your entire candidate class, click the submit candidate class button. It will be saved in your chapter module, sent to our office and an email will go to each candidate welcoming them to TKE. The quicker you get them registered, the faster the materials like the Teke Guide will get out our door.
