INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - What is your favorite holiday memory? Is it the gift that you always wanted finally in your hands? Is it the smile you saw on the face of a loved one who you gave a special gift? You have the opportunity to give a child in need near you a gift to brighten their holiday from the comfort of your own home. Angelwish, a non-profit started by Frater Shimmy Mehta (Theta-Zeta, Rutgers), works with over 107 Hospitals and Care Centers in the United States and an additional 43 Care Centers in 37 countries on 6 continents. Join Frater Shimmy and make this year memorable for a child in need living with a chronic illness such as asthma, diabetes, or HIV/AIDS.
This is the fourth year TKE has played a part in this season of giving opportunity. As we seek to build Better Men for a Better World, service and philanthropy play an integral role in developing our global impact. Their holiday toy drive is only one of several efforts the charity has taken on. Angelwish pioneered the concept of digital philanthropy, engaging the public to provide critical psychosocial and educational support for children and adolescents living with chronic illnesses all over the world.
The other areas they work on are Online Birthday and Holiday Wish Granting, International Giving, Giving Sprees and Educational Support. Angelwish achieves its mission by ensuring that 100% of individual donations are used for program services and that those funds are extended, where possible, to incorporate an educational component giving young people a hands on lesson in philanthropy.
