Grand Council and Awards

Grand Council and Awards

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Every two years an opportunity presents itself that is unlike any other – Conclave. This celebration is not only a chance to gather with thousands of Fraters, all of your hard work culminates in being recognized in front of everyone. That is, of course, if you apply for the various awards and positions available.

Nominations to Serve on the Grand Council & Black Book Changes

In addition to awards, two of the most important aspects of the convention are making changes to the Black Book and voting for your next Grand Council.

TKE's Grand Council is elected every two years and consists of eight elected Grand Officers, two at-large alumni appointed by the Grand Officers, and the Chairman of the Collegiate Advisory Committee.

Applications for alumni to serve on the 2013-2015 Grand Council are now being accepted. Please submit all supporting materials as soon as possible, but no later than July 22, 2013 to Patrick Gleason (pgleason@tke.org). Please complete, sign and submit the following forms in your submission: Application for Selection to Serve, Conflict of Interest Policy, Grand Council Background Check, Grand Council Commitment Statement Code of Conduct, and the Questionnaire for Nominees. Incomplete packages will be returned when received.

Grand Council members are not compensated for their service, and are expected to cover their own expenses.

Nominee applications must be submitted to Patrick Gleason at pgleason@tke.org. If you need assistance or have questions, you are only a phone call or an email away from it. Contact Frater Patrick Gleason (Phone 317.872.6533).

Chapter Awards

Awards of Excellence

Included in the awards application are several categories that chapters and colonies need to be recognized for: Recruitment-Results, Recruitment-Chapter Size, Involvement-Community Service, Involvement-Alumni Relations, Achievement-Academic Success, and Achievement-Extracurricular Activities. Applications due by May 15, 2013.

Top TKE Chapter

The best of the best – The cream of the crop – The Top TKE chapters must exhibit excellence in all categories. Only a handful or chapters can claim this, but it could be you! Whether the chapter has been around one year or 114, every chapter is equal - the playing field is level. You must apply for the Awards of Excellence if you want a shot at this most coveted designation. Applications due by May 15, 2013.

Top Teke

This is an individual award presented to a senior or graduate student (who has not earned this recognition before) for outstanding service as a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon. If you are a great student and have demonstrated superior leadership skills during your tenure, this recognition could be yours. Much like the Top TKE Chapter award, only a handful of men are selected throughout TKE Nation. Make sure your name is included by applying today. Applications due by May 15, 2013.

Top TKE Recruiter

Did you have an amazing year of recruitment results? If so, the chairman or another member who made a significant impact on this outcome should be considered. The individual must be able to explain how his membership recruitment skills are exceptional. If this sounds like you, fill out an application. Applications due by May 15, 2013.

In addition to the chapter and member awards mentioned above you are invited to nominate distinguished Tekes for the following awards:
