Michigan Tekes Raise Hope for St. Jude

Omega Tekes gather for their Annual Pig Roast

Upsilon Tekes push-up for St. Jude

Most people have drawn their attention toward the final four and major league baseball opening day. Two TKE chapters in the state of Michigan have decided to dedicate their time towards another cause; raising awareness and raising money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The Omega chapter at Albion College and the Upsilon chapter at the University of Michigan are finishing the month of March by raising money to save lives.

The Omega chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon put together a Pig Roast event that was more than just great food. On March 29th, Fraters and friends feasted for a cause and raised $1,141 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Their efforts remind TKE nation that it is never too late to make a difference and dedicate our time for Frater Danny Thomas' dream.

The University of Michigan campus played site to the Upsilon Tekes who were pushing their bodies to the limit for the children of St. Jude. The Wolverine Tekes did pushups to raise awareness for the Children's hospital; the chapter did 13,500 pushups symbolizing the 13,500 children that become diagnosed with pediatric cancer each year. Their efforts attracted friends, family, and other students to donate to the cause. Upsilon chapter has raised $18,510 for St. Jude and their efforts rank them at the top in TKE nation.

TKE nation can learn a lot from the efforts going on in the state of Michigan. If your chapter/colony has an upcoming philanthropic event coming up in the future, let us know by emailing tkeogc@tke.org.
