Annual Membership Fee Due October 1

Annual Membership Fee Due October 1

INDIANAPOLIS - With the beginning of a new academic year, it's important your chapter or colony is up to date with Tau Kappa Epsilon's annual membership fee requirements. These payments include the Risk Management Fee, Annual Membership Fee and completion of the 990-N tax form.

See below for details in regard to each form/payment and its corresponding due date.

Annual Membership Fee Due October 1

The best option is to pay your AMF in full for the year, due by October 1. The chapter or colony will save $30 per man by paying in advance for the full year. If choosing the split option, the first installment of $90 per man is due October 1 and the second installment of $90 per man is due no later than March 1. All returning active members of TKE chapters and colonies are obligated to pay this fee.

Graduate students have the option to be active members of a TKE chapter or colony. Any graduate student wishing to be an active member must pay Annual Membership Fees. Graduate students include all students who have received a bachelor's degree but are still taking classes at a college or university.

To make a payment, please contact Eric Johnson at ejohnson@tke.org or (317) 872-6533 ext. 250.

Risk Management Fees Due October 15

By now, all chapters and colonies in Tau Kappa Epsilon have received their 2014-2015 Risk Management Fee invoice from James R. Favor & Company.

Risk Management Fees are due in full by October 15. Alternatively, a chapter can set up a payment plan with Eric Johnson at the Offices of the Grand Chapter for at least 50% due on October 15 and the remaining payment due on March 15.

If your payment is not received on time, your insurance coverage will be cancelled and you will be charged an Insurance Reinstatement Charge of $250. Failure to pay your Risk Management Fee will result in coverage cancellation and may result in your chapter's loss of recognition with Tau Kappa Epsilon. To view the Risk Management Fees invoice, please login to the TKE Chapter Module at https://module.tke.org.

For American TKE chapters/colonies, payments should be made directly to James R. Favor & Company at http://www.jrfco.com/ach.htm.

For Canadian TKE chapter/colonies, payments should be made directly to Tau Kappa Epsilon at https://module.tke.org.

990-N Tax Forms Due October 15

October 15 is the final day to file your 990-N tax form. To avoid the risk of losing your chapter or colony's status as a tax-exempt organization, you must file your taxes by October 15.

Every chapter and colony in TKE Nation must complete the 990-N Tax Form.

Tau Kappa Epsilon is organized as a 501 (c) 7 non-profit corporation and is recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt organization. Unfortunately, even with federal tax-exempt status, you WILL need to file with the IRS annually. This year, chapter 990-N tax forms must be filed by October 15, 2014. Visit our TAX PAGE to learn more. Also, see How to file your 990-N.
