Veterans & Remembrance Day Nov. 11, 2014

INDIANAPOLIS – The Offices of the Grand Chapter would like to recognize to the men and women who have served in the United States of America and Canadian Armed Forces. Today not only marks a moment to celebrate the honorable actions by those who have chosen to defend their country, but also as an opportunity to reflect on all that we are thankful for because of the men and women who have served.

"The observance of Veterans Day on November 11 preserves the historical significance of the date and helps focus attention on the important purpose of Veterans Day: A celebration to honor America's veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good." – U.S. Department of Affairs.

In addition to the American celebration of Veterans Day, Canada and the Commonwealth of Nations are celebrating Remembrance Day as a way to remember the members of their armed forces who have given the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Veterans Day and Remembrance Day are largely intended to thank veterans for their service, to acknowledge that their contributions to United States and Canadian national security are appreciated, and to underscore the fact that all those who served - not only those who died - have sacrificed and done their duty.

Tau Kappa Epsilon International Fraternity and the Offices of the Grand Chapter extends a heartfelt "Thank You" to all veterans for their service.
