2015 Conclave Black Book Changes

INDIANAPOLIS - The Offices of the Grand Chapter is requesting recommendations to keep the Fraternity moving in the right direction. At the 2015 Conclave in New Orleans (August 6-9), changes to the Black Book will be voted on and we would like to receive your input. 

Black Book Changes
This memorandum serves as notice that proposed amendments to the Articles of Incorporation, International Constitution, and International Bylaws & Traditions (the Black Book) will be considered at Conclave 2015 in New Orleans.

Any collegiate chapter, chartered alumni association, member of the Grand Council, international TKE committee, or Past Grand Prytanis may propose amendments to any section of the Black Book, provided that the amendment(s) is received by the Offices of the Grand Chapter no later than January 31, 2015. The Grand Council will meet this spring to review all proposals.

Please format proposals with the article and section in question, current language, and proposed change. This will expedite the process and allow for easier organization to ensure all suggestions are reviewed properly. For example:

Article I, Section 1: The name of the corporation is Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity.
Proposed Change: The name of the corporation is Tau Kappa Epsilon International Fraternity.
Reason for Change: We believe that the Fraternity should recognize and celebrate our international presence.

Proposed legislation must be received by Chief Executive Officer Donald E. Aldrich no later than January 31, 2015.

All chapters and colonies are required to be present at Conclave and must have a representative attend the Grand Chapter meeting to elect the Grand Council for 2015-2017, as well as vote on the proposed amendments to the Black Book. Make your plans now to attend Conclave in New Orleans August 6-9, 2015. This year's Conclave is set to be one of the most successful in the Fraternity's history.
