#TekeTuesday - Frater Henry Chateauvert and the Zeta-Phi Chapter

Frater Henry Chateauvert

Today's #TekeTuesday features a Frater who has gone above and beyond for his Fraternity, campus and community. While Frater Henry Chateauvert is a recently initiated member of the Fraternity and junior on the Rollins College campus (Zeta-Phi chapter), he has become a leader through his unwavering commitment and service to others.

With a resume that includes involvement with the Rollins Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, Inter-Fraternity Council and TKE Zeta-Phi Chapter, Frater Henry is doing his part to stay active – all while maintaining a spot on the Rollins Honors Program as a music major with a minor in economics.

Despite being fully immersed in his musical and economic studies, Henry knew he would have to reach further. "I knew my college experience wasn't going to be complete until I joined a fraternity," recalled Henry. "I was spending all my time at the library and in the classroom, but now that I've joined TKE, I filled that void and completed the circle of what a true college experience ought to be."

Henry is not the only Frater on the Rollins campus getting involved. Six other Fraters have joined the Student Government Association, with two individuals serving on the executive board.

Despite Henry's and other Fraters' tremendous involvement, things have not always been this way for the men of the Zeta-Phi chapter. "The chapter was going through a rough patch prior to my joining," recalled Henry.

In the spring of 2012, the chapter lost their house, and relationships with the college were strained, but in 2014 the chapter reemerged and solidified its presence on the Rollins campus.

"Our chapter has really done a 180 in the past year," said Henry. "We have had an unprecedented amount of involvement on campus, particularly among the Student Government Association and the community service ‘Bonner Leaders' program."

The men of Zeta-Phi have worked closely with the school to demonstrate a newly established sense of dedication toward academics, athletics and community service programs.

"The commitment that Prytanis Joey Vinck, Epiprytanis Romulo Raihna and past Prytanis Ali Hakim have shown in the past year demonstrates how far hard work, determination, and a strong will can go," said Henry. "Turning the chapter from being in dire straights to one of the most involved - if not the most involved - student organization on campus is a testament to the work these men have done."

With 2014 drawing to an end, we are reminded that every chapter and colony in TKE Nation has the opportunity to start fresh heading into 2015. Our history is just that; history. Take control of your future and leave your mark. The Offices of the Grand Chapter would like to recognize Frater Henry Chateauvert and the men of the Zeta-Phi chapter at Rollins College for their success on campus and in the community.
