Statesboro, Ga. – Fraters Dylan John and Jonathan Quintyne, with two other Georgia Southern students, recently secured their biggest win of all time, "Top Advocacy Team in the World."

Competing against graduate law students from around the world, Georgia Southern's Mock Mediation Team took first place in the advocacy category of the International Law School Mediation Tournament in Des Moines, Iowa, held March 18-21.

"It is rare for an undergraduate team to be invited to compete at the graduate level, and it was definitely unexpected for an undergraduate team to qualify for the finals and win with a clean sweep victory over multiple law school programs from around the world," said Dylan.

Dylan started the Mock Mediation Club of Georgia Southern University two years ago. Since then, the club has gained popularity and is now highly regarded on an international stage. The team consists of four individuals, two of whom are Tekes from the local Lambda-Upsilon chapter at Georgia Southern, Dylan John and Jonathan Quintyne.

Aside from being known as one of the most successful Mock Mediation Teams around the world, the club is known for its unique approach to training prior to competitions. As a way to refine their skills, the club trains with other teams prior to and during competitions.

"Our members see it as the right thing to do and an opportunity to further refine our skill sets," said Dylan.

This year's club has won over 35 awards in the past two years and is well known for consistent dynamism as a team at the regional, national and international levels. With a comprehensive training program developed by Frater Jonathan Quintyne, the team has trained teams from Sri Lanka, Canada, Brazil and the United States.
