Collegiate Chapter and Alumni Association Attendance at Conclave

Collegiate Chapter and Alumni Association Attendance at Conclave

INDIANAPOLIS - The time has come once again for Conclave, where we assemble the Grand Chapter to conduct the business of the Fraternity. As this time approaches, both collegiate chapters and alumni associations should be aware of the following provisions of the International Constitution and Bylaws of the Fraternity:

    1. (Constitution Art. II, Sec. 2) The Grand Chapter is comprised of all Grand Council members, all living Past Grand Prytani, and one designated delegate from each collegiate chapter and alumni association.

    2. (Bylaws Ch. 1, Sec. 3) All Collegiate Chapters are required to be in attendance at Conclave, but if a collegiate chapter is unable to be represented by a collegiate delegate due to a school session conflict, the chapter may designate an alumnus of that chapter to serve as its delegate.

    3. (Constitution Art. II, Sec. 3) All chapters and associations are required to file credentials certifying an official delegate for purposes of representation and voting within the Grand Chapter.

    4. (Bylaws Ch. 1, Sec. 5) Any question on Official Delegates will be referred to the Judiciary Committee for determination and resolution.

    5. (Constitution Art. II, Sec. 5) Any chapter in Arrears as documented by the Chief Executive Officer shall not be entitled to a vote in the Grand Chapter.

In order to avoid previous issues with recognition of official delegates, and in order to fulfill the requirements of Art. II, Sec. 3 of the International Constitution, all collegiate chapters and alumni associations are directed to file the recognition of an official delegate with the Offices of the Grand Chapter on or before July 1, 2015.

In addition, all chapters currently recognized as being in arrears shall be notified on or before July 1, 2015 of their status and required to be financially in good standing by the Offices of the Grand Chapter on or before the opening of Conclave in order to be entitled to their vote.

If you have any questions concerning these requirements, please contact Alex Baker, Chief Information Officer, at abaker@tke.org. Thank you for your time and attention in this matter, and I look forward to celebrating with you in New Orleans.

Yours in the Bond,

Ryan J. Vescio
