Grand Council Approves At-Large and Judiciary Chairman Positions

INDIANAPOLIS – Per recommendation of the Board Development Committee of the Grand Council of Tau Kappa Epsilon, the Grand Council unanimously approved the appointment of Frater Peter Sobich to fill the vacant position of Grand Council Member At-Large and Frater Jason Blank to serve as Judiciary Chairman.

Chief Executive Officer Donald E. Aldrich said of the announcement, “I’m excited to welcome Frater Sobich to the Grand Council and Frater Blank as Judiciary Chairman. Their addition is a leap forward in the Council’s ability to create positive change for the Fraternity and our membership. We have many challenges to meet and are excited these men will be part of our team as we continue to enhance our organization.”

About Frater Sobich

Frater Sobich is an initiate of Chi Chapter at the University of Washington, and is currently President of Management Strategies, a management and strategy consulting firm based in the Washington, D.C. area serving agencies and organizations in the public and private sectors. He has previously served as Chief Operating Officer at TrueTandem, Managing Director at MorganFranklin Consulting, and Associate Partner in the Federal Practice of IBM Global Business Services.

During the George W. Bush presidential administration, Sobich spent time in the White House as a Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Cabinet Secretary. Prior to his career in management consulting, Sobich managed major motion picture productions for producer Jerry Weintraub at Warner Bros. in Los Angeles, New York and Miami. During this time, he also produced a number of his own independent film projects including a full-length feature film that appeared on Showtime, HBO and the Movie Channel, and is currently available on Netflix. 

At the University of Washington, Sobich received his bachelor's in communication. He later earned his MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. 

About Frater Blank

Frater Blank is an initiate of the Alpha-Pi chapter at George Washington University and is currently a partner at Haber Blank, LLP, a full service South Florida law firm. Prior to establishing Haber Blank, LLP, Frater Blank served as a Broward County Assistant Public Defender handling all levels of criminal cases.

Since 2013, Blank has been listed as one of Florida's "Legal Elite" by Florida Trend magazine. He is licensed to practice before all courts in the states of Florida and New Jersey, the United States Supreme Court, as well as the United States Southern District of Florida.

At George Washington University, Frater Blank received his bachelor's in political science with a minor in sociology. He later received his juris doctor from the Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University.

Fraters Sobich and Blank will begin their roles immediately and continue through the remainder of the biennium ending at Conclave 2017 in New Orleans.
