Introducing TKE.org

Introducing TKE.org

Dear Reader,

We’ve redesigned TKE.org. What do you think?

Over the past year, Tau Kappa Epsilon’s Professional Staff has made fundamental improvements to the way we engage and communicate with members and friends of the Fraternity. At Conclave 2015 in New Orleans, we unveiled the designed-with-you-in-mind, better-than-ever Official TKE App for iPhone and Android. And before the release of our favorite app, we created a platform to help us gather missing contact information from our Lost Alumni, allowing us to reconnect them with the Fraternity for Life.

These improvements, accompanied by prior updates to our servicing model, THE TEKE magazine and MyTKE.org, culminate to a greater experience for collegiate members, alumni, friends and family of the Fraternity.

From the beginning of this project, we maintained several core features that had to be included to create an aesthetically appealing, engaging, resourceful medium that could be utilized by anyone and everyone. Whether visitors to the site are potential new members, current members or just using StumbleUpon, we wanted to create an environment that is cognizant to the various levels of affiliation and understanding users have of Tau Kappa Epsilon.

So here’s what we did:

We created a site that makes a new priority of visual presentation, that offers a cleaner experience across all digital devices, and gives users a better sense of direction, whether that means you’re looking for specific information or just seeing what’s new. Where important resources were buried under several layers previously, all the information you could possibility want is now presented in a clear, straightforward manner.

The new homepage offers a user friendly fly out menu that allows you to quickly find the information you need. A rotating banner presents the most relevant information taking place and will constantly be updated to help you stay in the loop with the Fraternity’s announcements. Tabs for collegiate members, parents and friends, and alumni are also featured on the homepage to serve as quick links to the pages that are most relevant to them.

Our new article pages have also undergone a new design. Gone are the days of pinching and zooming and side-to-side scrolling. A significant majority of our viewers visit TKE.org from their mobile device (perhaps you’re doing it right now). Those users will now be able to better enjoy the experience of reading stories and press releases from our communications department.

It’s also evident that we’ve incorporated social media throughout the site. Connecting with us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram has never been easier—we encourage you to follow us if you aren’t already. The features we mention are only the beginning. There's plenty more, and we hope you enjoy experiencing all that our site has to offer.

It’s important to note that this design was done completely in-house, with the commitment from our entire Professional Staff, over the course of several months. Today’s release serves as more than a simple unveil of a new website, it’s a testament to our commitment to provide our members with the best products available. We are passionate about sharing news and providing resources to members and friends of the Fraternity. But we’re looking at today’s launch as the beginning of something great. We want to see how users interact with the site, and from there we’ll make the appropriate adjustments; we’ll adapt based on what we learn.

As we celebrate the Fraternity’s 117th Founders’ Day, take some time exploring the new site. Think about what you like and what can be improved. Once you’ve done that, send us an email with your thoughts: tkeogc@tke.org

We hope to hear from you.

Sincerely / Yours in the Bond,

Tau Kappa Epsilon’s Professional Staff
