Four TKE Expansions Begin This Fall

Tau Kappa Epsilon is excited to announce that four previously non-operating chapters will be re-colonized beginning in Fall 2016. The four chapters are Arkansas State (Beta-Psi), Illinois-Chicago (Nu-Iota), Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Gamma-Epsilon), and Sacramento State (Theta-Upsilon).

“I’m excited about the opportunity to return to these campuses and grow these groups across the continental U.S. This is an exciting time in the Fraternity’s history with expansion and growth being a heavy focus,” Gabe Espinosa, Director of Expansion said.

• Beta-Psi (Arkansas State) is the home chapter of Fraters Elvis Presley and Mike Huckabee. Their chapter has received 36 Lifetime Chapter Awards, contains nine Life Loyal Tekes, and has more than 250 TKE Educational Foundation donors. Additionally, the chapter has more than 1,300 lifetime members.

• Gamma-Epsilon (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute) consists of more than 1,000 lifetime members, four of which are Life Loyal Tekes and has 265 TKE Educational Foundation donors. The chapter has received 28 Lifetime Chapter Awards and the group was founded in 1949.

• Theta-Upsilon (California State University, Sacramento) also has more than 1,000 lifetime members. Their chapter has received 11 Lifetime Chapter Awards, has five Life Loyal Tekes and 117 TKE Educational Foundation donors. The group was founded in 1961.

• Nu-Iota (University of Illinois at Chicago) returns after being founded in 1970. The chapter includes nearly 300 lifetime members, has received five lifetime chapter awards and has more than 40 TKE Educational Foundation donors.

Tau Kappa Epsilon has dedicated three members to help our Fraternity thrive. Under the guidance of Director of Expansion, Gabe Espinosa (Beta-Xi), both Tanner Shelton (Xi-Eta, Missouri Western State) and Tim O’Neil (Zeta-Mu, Worcester Polytechnic) will be dedicated to aid our expansion efforts across multiple new campuses next fiscal year. In a shift of our previous models, both Shelton and O’Neil will each be stationed on one to two campuses per semester to help build strong groups on the campuses we expand to in 2016-17.
