Teke Launches New Kickstarter Campaign

Teke Launches New Kickstarter Campaign

"I did not know a single person on campus...I felt very alone," Frater Edgar Khalatian described a story familiar to many Tekes.

"When I started as a freshman at Cal State Fullerton in 1994, I did not know a single person on campus. Being a quiet and shy guy, coupled with not knowing anyone on a campus of nearly 25,000 students, I felt very alone. I soon met a couple of guys from TKE, and frankly, I immediately felt at home. One of those guys, Leo Demirtshian, became my big brother and is still, to this day, one of my closest friends."

As a 1994 initiate at Mu-Xi, Frater Edgar Khalatian had heard about networking opportunities as a reason to join but never thought it would change his life.

"Frater Leo was the rush chair, and I soon became his assistant-chair. We had the best rush cycle that Mu-Xi had ever had. That 3 month rush process completely changed me – I gained a level of confidence and trust in my abilities that I never even imagined. As opposed to me joining a fraternity as my parents were, they immediately noticed a dramatic change in me and became amazing supporters of TKE."

Through the chartering process for Mu-Xi, Frater Edgar met Frater Robert McMurry, who eventually became Grand Officer.

"Robert McMurry ended up convincing me to go to law school. Upon graduation from law school, he hired me! I am now a partner at one of the largest law firms in the world, which would not have happened but for TKE."

The TKE network didn't stop there. Frater Leo introduced Frater Edgar to his brother, Ralph. This introduction gave Edgar an outstanding opportunity to work with a start-up, and launch a Kickstarter campaign, as a member of "Fan Frames".

"Ralph showed me the product and it caught my attention – seemed like a no brainer – so, it compelled me to want to help make Fan Frames a huge success," said Khalatian.

Fan Frames has developed a portfolio of multi-use 3D frames that can be used as a picture frame on your wall, desk, or even on your car as a license plate frame.

Because of his connection and dedication to the Fraternity, Edgar reached out to TKE Headquarters about how to become a licensed vendor. After going through the licensing process, Fan Frames has developed an exclusive line of their "Hat" frame just for Tekes.

Frater Khalatian shared his excitement, "During our Kickstarter campaign, Tau Kappa Epsilon will be the only fraternity that will have the opportunity to represent the new product! I couldn't be more proud. The exclusive TKE 'Hat' product line looks excellent."

Everyone involved in supporting the Fan Frames campaign will be placed in their VIP Fan Club, which will give you exclusive access to new products, discounts and other perks, forever.

We wish you the best of luck, Frater Khalatian and Fan Frames, on the launch of your Kickstarter campaign!
