Frater Regis Burton Earns Queen's Young Leader Award

Frater Regis Burton, co-Founding Father of Colony #856 at SUNY Old Westbury and a graduate of the Charles R. Walgreen, Jr. Leadership Academy, has been selected as one of 60 recipients for the prestigious Queen's Young Leader Award.

The Queen's Young Leader Award recognizes and celebrates exceptional people between the ages of 18-29 from across the Commonwealth who are taking the lead in their communities and using their skills to transform lives. Winners of this prestigious award receive a unique package of training, mentoring and networking, including a one-week residential program in the UK during which time they will collect their award from Her Majesty the Queen.

Regis said of his accomplishment, "Success is not defined by the amount of money you make but rather the positive impact you make on your community."

After growing up in Antigua and attending school in New York, Regis founded Nolan Hue, a social enterprise organization that focuses on the professional development of young people. He believes in inspiring others to reach their potential and offers assistance in interview techniques, resume writing and public speaking. In addition, Nolan Hue provides college scholarships to promising students and hosts young professional networking events. In the future, he would like to build a Nolan Hue Foundation Community Center, which would include a Caribbean and African history library and would offer tutors for the study of English and math.

The Offices of the Grand Chapter congratulates Frater Regis Burton on his tremendous accomplishment and wishes him success as Nolan Hue continues to develop.
