Frater Mark Romig Tabbed to Lead Marketing Efforts for HCA

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Frater Mark C. Romig, PGP, APR (Theta-Mu, University of New Orleans) has been named Vice President for Marketing and Public Relations for HCA Inc.'s Delta Division (Hospital Corporation of America), according to Maurice L. Lagarde, III, Delta Division President. He will join the HCA team effective April 7. The Delta Division for HCA operates medical facilities in Louisiana and Mississippi including Tulane Medical Center, Lakeview Regional Medical Center (Covington), Tulane-Lakeside Hospital, Rapides Regional Medical Center (Alexandria) and Southwest Medical Center (Lafayette).

HCA Inc. is the nation's leading provider of healthcare services, operating 169 hospitals and 108 freestanding surgery centers in 20 states and England (including eight hospitals and nine freestanding surgery centers operated through equity method joint ventures) with approximately 186,000 employees.

"We are looking forward to having Mark join the team as healthcare continues to play a key role in our region's recovery," said Lagarde. "Mark's leadership and expertise is in the field of media relations, issues management and public affairs positions him perfectly for this role."

Frater Romig, a native New Orleanian, has been serving as Director of Public Relations for Peter A. Mayer Advertising, the region's largest full-service agency, since 1992. He was named President of the agency's Public Relations Division in 2003.

A graduate of the University of New Orleans with a Bachelor of Science from the College of Business Administration, Frater Romig is currently serving as Chairman of the Board of The Idea Village. He is also a member of the board of directors of the Emeril Lagasse Foundation, Fore!Kids Foundation, the North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC), Longue Vue House and Gardens, the Sugar Bowl Committee and the TKE Educational Foundation. Frater Romig is a former Grand Prytanis of the Grand Council and past president of the Sugar Bowl Committee, Project Lazarus and Southern Repertory Theater. He also serves as a member of the City Park Board of Commissioners and the Executive Leadership Council of the American Cancer Society (New Orleans area). Frater Romig is a former board member of City Year - Louisiana and serves as a City Year - Louisiana Champion. A member of the New Orleans Press Club, he is accredited (APR) by the Public Relations Society of America.
