INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Grand Prytanis Bob Barr announced today the appointments of Frater Ted Bereswill of Houston, Texas, and Frater William "Van" Muse, Jr. of Fullerton, California as At-Large Members on the Grand Council. The appointments were made by the Grand Council pursuant to authority in the Black Book, the Fraternity's governing document.
Bereswill was initiated in 1977 and graduated with a B.A. in Marketing; he served the Gamma-Upsilon Chapter (Univ. of Texas - Austin) as Hegemon and Epiprytanis. In his professional life Ted has worked more than 30 years in the technology field and in 1990 he landed at ORACLE ™ in Houston Texas, where he served as a Senior Vice President for North American Sales, Alliances and Channels. Frater Bereswill also worked as a White House Presidential Representative in the administrations of Presidents George H. W. Bush and George W Bush. Today, Ted is happily retired and currently serves on the Boards of Directors for Star of Hope Mission and The University of Houston College of Technology.
Muse is a 1987 initiate of Beta-Rho Chapter (Univ. of Akron) and is a graduate of Ohio State University where he earned a B.A. in English. Van, as he likes to be called, continued his education by earning masters and doctorate degrees from Auburn University. Frater Muse possesses an extensive background in higher education learning, online program development, assessment, and strategic planning. Frater Muse is a senior administrator with Fullerton College in Fullerton, California and the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs – Irvine Campus. He is a TKE Legacy who shares a unique fraternal experience with his father, TEF Board Chairman Emeritus and Past Grand Prytanis Frater William V. Muse, Sr.
In announcing the appointments, Grand Prytanis Barr said, "These Fraters are exceptional Tekes who complement the breadth of experience the other men on the Council offer; and in particular bring to the Grand Council unique capabilities to assist the Fraternity in understanding new trends in technology and higher education. Ted and Van will work hard to help build Better Men for a Better World."
