MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - A local fraternity is preparing for a special fundraiser that they have held for more than three decades. Next weekend the Theta Iota chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon at Northern Michigan University will hold their annual Tub Push. They will start next Friday morning in Sault Ste. Marie and take turns pushing a bath tub on wheels 165 miles back to Marquette. While they push they will be raising money for St. Jude Children's Hospital and Room at The Inn. This year they hope to raise $5,000.

“If we don't hit that we're not going to be super disappointed,” said chapter president Michael Kolbus. “We just want to get as much as we can. If we can hit that goal it would be amazing, it would probably be the most that we have ever raised for the chapter. So we're trying to hit that $5,000 but we're just asking the community for some help and raise as much as we can, and I know Room at the Inn is going to be appreciative of anything that we give them.”
