TKE International Sweetheart Scholarship Enhanced

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – TKE and the TKE Foundation is proud to announce an enhanced scholarship to honor the TKE International Sweetheart. The Melanie Crockard TKE Woman of Distinction Scholarship will be awarded to a woman who exemplifies academic achievement and community leadership within their campus community.

Each year, a $2,500 scholarship will now be awarded to the woman selected as the TKE International Sweetheart. To be considered, applicants must complete the International Sweetheart Application at TKE.org/Sweetheart by March 15. An official announcement will be made when the application is open.

Established in recognition of long-time TKE Foundation volunteer and Pittsburgh philanthropist Melanie Crockard, this scholarship is designed to inspire, empower, and celebrate women who embody TKE's core values while advancing efforts that build Better Men for a Better World.

"We are so pleased that we can help continue the legacy of this important tradition of Tau Kappa Epsilon with a lead financial contribution to the TKE Foundation funding in full the first 10 scholarship recipients that we hope will inspire others to join with us to permanently endow this fund," said Frater Jim Crockard, TKE Foundation Chairman Emeritus.

"As Jim's TKE Sweetheart I am extremely honored to be the namesake for this scholarship fund and otherwise involved in this tradition that furthers the TKE ideals of Love, Charity and Esteem," said Melanie Crockard. "I encourage the young ladies involved with our TKE Chapters to consider applying for this prestigious honor and for the recipients to each use this platform to serve as a role model exemplifying the TKE ideals."

Applicants or chapters must submit:

  • The International Sweetheart application
  • A one-page statement on why she would like to represent TKE as International Sweetheart
  • A high-resolution headshot
  • A few supplemental photographs for use in media announcements
The International Sweetheart and her chapter will be notified by May 15.
