TKE International Sweetheart

The International Sweetheart of Tau Kappa Epsilon was developed by Frater Alan Derr (Alpha-Delta, Univ. of Idaho) and began as a calendar of chapter sweethearts that members voted on as the most popular. Fifty-six sweethearts since that time have been selected to represent the Fraternity, 54 of which were featured on playing cards given out at the 54th Biennial Conclave in Las Vegas, Nev.

The ‘Old Sweetheart Song’ written by Frater Al Rockwell (Alpha-Xi, Drake Univ.), and redone by The Lettermen, is sung each year to both chapter (at annual Red Carnation Balls) and our International Sweethearts (at Regional Leadership Conferences or Conclaves) upon their crowning.

The Sweetheart will be awarded a scholarship and be crowned at either Conclave (if an odd numbered year) or at a designated Regional Leadership Conference. The winner represents the TKE Nation at all designated Fraternity functions, as schedules permit.
