Established by the Board of Directors of the TKE Educational Foundation, this award recognizes the lifelong commitment of Charles R. Walgreen as a TKE volunteer and supporter. The retired president and chairman of Walgreen Drug Company was initiated a Teke at Upsilon Chapter at the University of Michigan in 1925. He is a Past Grand Officer of TKE and provided a start-up grant for the TKE Leadership Academy. He was honorary chairman of the Foundation\'s Centennial Endowment Campaign. Frater Walgreen received the Alumnus of the Year Award (1976) and the Order of the Golden Eagle (1989), and was the first recipient of the Foundation\'s Fraternity for Life Award in 1997. He is a Life Loyal Teke.
Criteria
All of the TKE Educational Foundation leadership and scholarship awards are for the benefit of active members of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity.
This leadership award is given in recognition of academic achievement with a Grade Point Average of at least 3.0 or higher and recognizes outstanding leadership, as demonstrated by activities and accomplishments within the chapter, on campus and in the community.
