George W. Woolery Memorial Scholarship

George W. Woolery was initiated a Teke at Beta-Sigma Chapter at the University of Southern California in 1948. A Chapter Advisor and Board of Advisors member locally, he also volunteered at the international level, chairing the Public Relations and Expansion Committees, originating the TKE Public Service Weekend, and serving as a District President (now Grand Province Advisor). He was elected to two terms on the Grand Council and was a member of the TKE Educational Foundation Board. Frater Woolery was a recognized author and authority on children's TV programming and animation production. He was a recipient of the Grand Prytanis Award in 1964 and the TKE Alumnus of the Year Award in 1993.


Criteria

All of the TKE Educational Foundation leadership and scholarship awards are for the benefit of active members of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity.


This scholarship is awarded in recognition of academic achievement with a Grade Point Average of at least 2.5 or higher, and recognizes outstanding leadership within the chapter and on campus.
 

The applicant must be pursuing an undergraduate degree in communications or marketing. Preference will first be given to a member of Beta-Sigma Chapter, but if there is no qualified applicant, the scholarship will be open to any other qualified Teke.
