Fraters at Upsilon-Iota Featured on ESPN Commercial

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. - In an effort to increase Greek life on the Indiana University Purdue University at Indianapolis campus, the Upsilon-Iota Chapter is assisting the IUPUI External Affairs' Communication and Marketing Department to help promote IUPUI's campus by participating in photo shoots and the making of a commercial for IUPUI's basketball teams, which is now airing on ESPN, Bright House Cable, Comcast Cable, as well as the local television stations. They are also in the process of working with the Undergraduate Student Government to reform policies to allow Greek organizations to receive funding for recruitment efforts.

The relatively new chapter of Upsilon-Iota, chartered in 2005, is wasting no time in making the IUPUI campus aware of what it takes to be a frater in the bond. The men are taking the campus by storm participating in various charity and service events, as well as several campus wide social events.

This semester TKE has already participated in the charity event known as "Day of Caring" through IUPUI's United Way campaign. This event, which worked with "Rebuilding the Wall" to help restore houses for low income families, allowed the men to work with United Way and IUPUI's Campus and Community Life to help the community and promote a good relationship with campus programs. In addition, the Upsilon-Iota chapter recently participated in the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk. The men raised money and walked in an effort to show support for TKE's national philanthropy and in the memory of one of the Fraternity's most cherished members, Ronald Reagan. President Reagan was a victim of the disease and passed away in June 2004. The men raised over six hundred dollars for the Alzheimer's Association, an organization that helps the families affected by the disease.

There is no doubt that the men of Tau Kappa Epsilon, Upsilon-Iota chapter have arrived at IUPUI and intend to create a campus environment to be proud of and help Tau Kappa Epsilon "Redefine Fraternity".
