Thank You Volunteers of TKE

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -This week is Volunteer Appreciation Week and Tau Kappa Epsilon thanks each and every man who helps strengthen our organization. The theme is "Celebrating People in Action," honoring the individuals who take action and solve problems in their communities. This celebratory week also focuses national attention on the impact and power of volunteerism and service as an integral aspect of our civic leadership. Established in 1974 by former President Richard Nixon, National Volunteer Week has grown exponentially in scope each year, drawing the support and endorsement of all subsequent U.S. presidents, governors, mayors and other respected elected officials, as well as corporate and community groups across the country.

Volunteers are the cornerstone for the success of TKE. Thousands of men dedicate untold hours to mentoring, advising and supporting local chapters and the international organization dedicated to enriching the lives of young men. In recognition of their volunteer leadership, TKE is saluting its members during National Volunteer Week.

"We are recognizing and thanking our volunteers throughout this week for their dedication, passion and service to TKE," says CEO Frater Kevin Mayeux, CAE. "Volunteers are the foundation of our organization -- from the thousands of volunteer leaders who guide our local chapters; to the thousands of others who serve as mentors, on committees and volunteer at events; and the TKE Grand Council and TKE Educational Foundation Board of Directors - all giving freely of their time, talent, and treasure to help others benefit through the Fraternity."

The group's volunteer spirit also is demonstrated in the myriad of charitable events and fundraising activities of TKE chapters and the TKE Educational Foundation. Approximately $500,000 is raised each year for a wide range of causes including the Alzheimer's Association and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. In addition, more than 120,000 hours were volunteered totaling more than $2.3 million dollars in donated time.

The Offices of the Grand Chapter send a heartfelt thank you to all of our volunteers and chapters that donate time and money for charitable causes. If you are not a volunteer, but would like to become one click here. Happy Volunteer Appreciation Week.
