TKE Grand Opening Celebration a Success INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Fraters trekked across the TKE Nation to converge on the new Offices of the Grand Chapter in Indianapolis. There was a buzz among the more than 200 attendees impressed with the facility they now call “Home.” The historic day in our 111-year history marked the beginning of a new era. The event opened with a welcome from Frater Tim Murphy and a historical perspective from Frater Bruce Melchert. Grand Prytanis Frater Herb Songer told attendees what the new home means for the organization and TKE CEO Kevin Mayeux followed up with what it means for you. TKE Educational Foundation President/ CEO Gary Reed rounded out the opening by sharing with Fraters how they can support and make their mark on the new facility. “You can feel the excitement between the attendees from youngest to the oldest,” said Frater Tareq Fayyad of Pi-Delta Chapter (Univ. of Alabama-Birmingham). “It’s definitely a great time to be a Teke.” Tours of the facility began shortly after allowing for everyone to see developed areas and those still in the planning stages. There are many exciting opportunities to support the building, ensure its future, and leave your mark for history. Each area has a specific focus including a Heritage Center detailing the history of TKE, a Leadership Training Center, and a Better Men for a Better World Courtyard, to name a few. “The new headquarters is fantastic,” said Al Vanduyne of Delta-Upsilon Chapter (Missouri Valley College). It’s a phenomenal space and I really think it will benefit the success and growth of TKE.” All of these opportunities to leave your legacy have been planned by the TKE Educational Foundation Staff and are available to view now.
