TKE Receives Two Communication Awards

Fraternity Communications AssociationCHICAGO, Ill. - The Fraternity Communications Association, made up of peer Greek Organizations' Marketing and Communications staff, awarded Tau Kappa Epsilon with honors last week. In the writing category of Human Interest, The TEKE Magazine received 2nd Place on "Second Chance: Life After the Hudson River Plane Crash" and 2nd Place on "Releasing the Empire Within: A reflection from Frater Kyle Henry of the 2010 TKE Leadership Academy." TKE Publications Vendor Maury Boyd & Associates' Susan Casalini was honored with Associate Member of the Year.

With more the 600 entries in the various categories, receiving even one award is something the Marketing, Events and Communication Department is very proud of.  Upon receiving the plaques, Director of Communication Tom McAninch said, "We try very hard to convey why our members should have great pride in this Fraternity. The TEKE Magazine is just one piece of the puzzle, but is a staple of our outreach to collegiate and alumni members. Recognition is not why we do our best every day; it does, however, provide a measuring stick for our effectiveness."

In addition, Frater Tom McAninch was elected to serve another 2-year term as Vice President of Operations for the FCA Board of Directors. He will oversee the Directors of Finance, Membership and Marketing for the organization.
