Celebrate Veterans Day

Celebrate Veterans Day

Veterans Day is an annual holiday honoring military veterans for their sacrifice and patriotism. We celebrate our veterans on November 11th because of the historical significance. November 11th is celebrated as Armistice Day and Remembrance Day in other parts of the world. Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with Germany signing the Armistice.

The Offices of the Grand Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon extend heartfelt thanks to all who have sacrificed and defended our countries. Be sure to take this time to remember our past so that we can move forward to a stronger future. Extend a thank you to a relative, a friend, a neighbor, and even a Frater. Let us look back at a quote from Frater Ronald Reagan who spoke proudly on this day in 1988.

"Well, today, Veterans Day, as we do every year, we take that moment to embrace the gentle heroes of Vietnam and of all our wars. We remember those who were called upon to give all a person can give, and we remember those who were prepared to make that sacrifice if it were demanded of them in the line of duty, though it never was. Most of all, we remember the devotion and gallantry with which all of them ennobled their nation as they became champions of a noble cause."

Thank you veterans for allowing Tau Kappa Epsilon to Build Better Men for a Better World. Our lives are better because of the freedom that you have defended.
