William V. Muse Alumni Volunteer Academy 2014

Do you want to learn more about advising TKE chapters? Are you committed to helping your chapter or colony become a Top Teke Chapter?

Join us at the Alumni Volunteer Academy at the Atlanta Regional Leadership Conference on January 31. Participants will discuss the role of the Chapter Advisor, network with other like-minded Tekes, and improve their skills for developing a world-class fraternal experience. Topics for the academy include understanding the many facets of advising, developing your personal philosophy, building relationships, and implementing change. The AVA will also include a special session with Past Grand Prytanis William V. Muse discussing his "Key Man" theory.

Please join us in Atlanta to grow as an advisor and a Frater for Life!

What will I be doing all weekend?

Participation in the Alumni Volunteer Academy is limited to 40 participants. The AVA participants will spend the weekend together and, for most of the time, will be apart from the RLC program for their workshops and meals. The AVA participants will attend some of the larger events as part of the RLC schedule as noted below. The Alumni Volunteer Academy is a chance to refine your identity as an advisor. It will provide you with new knowledge and skills specific to your volunteer role in TKE while giving you a chance to interact with other TKE alumni.

How do I apply?

The application for AVA is located at http://rlc.tke.org/atlanta. You must also be registered for the Atlanta RLC as an alumnus participant in order to be considered for the academy.

What does it cost to register?

To attend the Alumni and Volunteer Academy, you will need to register yourself as an alumnus at the quad room rate ($229) for the Atlanta RLC. If you are selected for the Alumni and Volunteer Academy, you will be upgraded to a double room at the rate you paid for the quad. Registered participants will also receive a travel stipend.

What will my travel costs be?

You are responsible for booking your own travel to and from the Sheraton Atlanta hotel. Please bring any receipts for which you hope to be compensated to check-in on Friday.

Travel costs, including ground travel to the hotel, will be reimbursed up to $325.
