Giving is Personal

For Frater John Oglesby, giving to the TKE Educational Foundation is a personal matter.

"I always felt like I received about ten times what I put into the fraternity, so it was easy for me to stay involved," he said. "There always seemed to be something that needed to be done. I was so invested in the men I had been in school with, those I had rushed, and later the ones that lived in the house I helped create."

As an undergraduate, Frater John served as Prytanis, Epiprytanis and Hegemon, learning organizational skills that would help him in his professional career as President and CEO of MobileNOW!, a company that offers parking services payable directly from a mobile device in major cities. "I learned incredible lessons in leadership, business, sales, communication and budgeting through TKE," he explained. John also serves as Vice President for Indianapolis-based Denison Parking for the western US and their Technology Initiatives.

An alumnus of the Epsilon-Sigma Chapter of University of Central Oklahoma, Frater John attended his first Conclave in French Lick, IN in 1979. "This event introduced me to an incredible world of TKE with so much diversity and new experiences," he said. "I had to go back when invited." He returned as a valued volunteer in 2013 to assist with the Foundation activities in Washington, D.C., going above and beyond the call of duty as a member of the Business Council.

Members of the Foundation Business Council pledge gifts of $250 per month, or $5,000 per year for five years. Frater John has always been willing to answer the call of the Fraternity, serving as a Board of Advisors member of his home chapter from a long distance.

"Even when I relocated to Colorado from Oklahoma, I worked hard to stay involved, contributed to each event I couldn't attend and always talked Teke," said John. "I look forward to continued involvement."

Giving to the year-end campaign is just one way you can answer the call of your Fraternity. Your support is crucial to our leadership and educational programming in 2014. Help us to reach our $50,000 goal by making your tax-deductible donation online at www.tke.org/donate.
