Frater Earns Spotlight in 2016 Presidential Election

As the national spotlight shines bright in Iowa and New Hampshire for the 2016 presidential election, Frater Jeff Roe--a political consultant in Missouri for 20 years and current campaign manager for Ted Cruz--finds himself in the spotlight for his take-no-prisoners approach and no-lose mentality.

In the past month, Frater Roe has been profiled by The Kansas City Star and New Republic. Each story paints Roe as one of the "meanest and sharpest minds in the business" with "a brass-knuckled approach to winning that's made him many enemies." From building his own mini-political kingdom in Kansas City, Roe has moved up to the national spotlight by guiding presidential hopeful Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) from campaign footnote to headliner.

In an effort to introduce key figures behind the leading presidential contenders, Fox News sat down with Roe to discuss his reputation as the "bad boy of Missouri politics" and the secret to Ted Cruz's campaign.

With the presidential election heating up in the coldest days of winter, it's fitting a Frater is found in the thick of one of the most discussed campaigns. While Ted Cruz's first test will come on Monday, Feb. 1, with results from the Iowa caucus, Andy Kroll, author of New Republic's "Ted Cruz's Howitzer," says Frater Jeff Roe has already won.

Roe has no illusions: He knows that either his headiest days, or his most difficult, might lie ahead of him in 2016. Still, few observers ever expected Cruz’s campaign to come as far as it already has. Anything short of a complete meltdown, or a debilitating scandal, will seal Roe’s status as the face of a new crop of political Svengalis. In that sense, you could say that Jeff Roe has already won.
