Frater Rene Cintron Enters Chapter Eternal

It is with a heavy heart, Tau Kappa Epsilon is saddened to share Frater Rene Cintron (Iota-Upsilon, West Alabama) entered the Chapter Eternal on Monday, December 6th, 2021.

TKE Chief Executive Officer, Donald E. Aldrich, shared, "I am sad to report that we learned earlier this week that Rene Cintron, Ph.D. passed away suddenly. Frater Cintron made an incredible impact on TKE. Frater Cintron was committed to advancing our mission and aiding our groups in seeing their potential. Rene is survived by his 3 daughters. May he Rest in Peace in the Chapter Eternal."

Frater Cintron was initiated into Tau Kappa Epsilon in 1995. During his active collegiate years, at West Alabama, Frater Cintron served as Chapter Crysophylos, Grammateus, Hegemon, Hypophetes, and Rush Chairman. As an alumni, he served as Board of Advisors chair for Iota-Upsilon, Province Advisor for Cajun Province from 2004-2016 as well as Grand Province Advisor until 2020. He attended multiple Elmer & Donna Smith RLC's (including serving as a facilitator). He attended the William V. Muse Alumni Volunteer Academy in 2018, multiple Province Forums, and Conclave (2001, 2007, 2009, 2015, 2017, 2019). He most recently served as a part of TKE's DEI Committee, a Foundation Ambassador, Life Loyal Teke, and Top 225 Lifetime Donor.

Frater Cintron's employer, Louisiana Community & Technical Colleges, shared the following about his professional life:

"Rene began his higher education career at Delgado Community College as an instructor from 2007-2015 until he was promoted to Assistant Dean, Business and Technology Division. He also served as Interim Executive Director of Planning and Research. Rene's attention to detail and solutions-oriented personality aided him in his ascension through the ranks of the community and technical college system. Rene joined the LCTCS Board Office Staff in December 2015 as the Executive Director of Education and Research. In June 2017 he was promoted to Chief Academic Affairs Officer and in July 2018 he was promoted to Chief Education and Training Officer."

"Rene's positive impact can be seen and felt in nearly every aspect of our organization. He challenged his team and his colleagues to think differently and to dream big. In each of his roles, Rene made sure the focus was on helping and improving the lives of people. His most important role however was that of being a Dad."

Anyone who would like to donate directly for funeral costs can send checks to the following:

Attn: Jennifer Land, 19200 Antenor St, Mandeville, LA 70741

There will be a viewing but the date and place has yet to be determined. Rather than sending flowers, the family would prefer gifts be sent to a memorial scholarship fund established in his name.

All of us here at Tau Kappa Epsilon International Headquarters are saddened to hear of this news and ask that you keep his loved ones in your thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
