American Leadership Academy and TKE to Continue Partnership
Great Success Brings Additional Opportunities

INDIANAPOLIS, IN- The Offices of the Grand Chapter announces another opportunity for several groups to participate in the American Leadership Academy training institute in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The Academy has two winter sessions available, the week of January 2-7 and January 8-13. Space is limited and on a first come, first serve basis - so ACT NOW!

This opportunity has been made available to TKE by Jerry Nelson, co-founder of Ticketmaster and recent recipient of the TKE Salisbury-Scott Interfraternal Award. ALA seminars revolve around the seven key modules of the general curriculum. The diverse group of volunteer speakers and educators each add their own personal background and experience to these key areas. The ALA updates and refines the core modules of its curriculum annually and welcomes input on readings, historic figures and anecdotes, and examples that reinforce the core curriculum modules. The seven key modules of the general curriculum are:

  • Personal and Character Development
  • Interpersonal Communications & Relations
  • Planning Your Professional Future & Career Development
  • Negotiation & Sales Skills for Life Business Ethics
  • Team Dynamics & Leadership Skills
  • Global Perspective, Free Enterprise & Patriotism

After each daily seminar, participants are free for the day to enjoy the beautiful weather, the beach, and activities of Cabo. The facility includes a pool, volleyball, pool tables, table tennis, air hockey, hot tubs, private beach access, wake boards, surfboards, and kayaks.

Cost is $250 plus your personal travel costs and you must have a passport. With the deadline to register November 1st, there is plenty of time to obtain your passport between now and when you travel. To participate, a chapter must send a minimum of four members.

Members from the University of California at Berkeley and Quinnipiac University, who attended the Academy last year, had some great things to say about their experience:

"The American Leadership Academy in Cabo San Lucas is a phenomenal program. The founder and CEO, Jerry Nelson, has set the bar on what it means to be philanthropic and hospitable. The setting, accommodations and food were spectacular. The staff was informative, helpful and truly inspirational. The attendees were intelligent and receptive to the lectures. I think that the ALA has done a lot towards bridging gaps in the Greek community, as well as consciously building stronger, more moral men. I can honestly say that our chapter is stronger and more unified because of our attendance." - David Freeman Former Prytanis, Nu Chapter

"The ALA was the best leadership experience that I have ever attended. Every Frater should be thankful for the opportunity to participate in this life changing affair. You will grow as an individual, extend your network, and enjoy paradise with fellow fraters." - James Stewart, Kappa-Psi Chapter
