Responsibilities
As the Vice President for Fraternal Services, I am responsible for the field operations and member services of the Fraternity. My team consists of eleven full-time paid staff members and hundreds of volunteers. Together, we make up the Regional Servicing and Educational Programming team. We are responsible for chapter visitation, chapter services, plus all educational events, programs and curriculum design. The team\'s full-time paid staff members consist of Regional Directors, Expansion Consultants, Director of Chapter Development, Chapter Services Specialists and the Assistant Director of Programs. The volunteer team is comprised of Grand Province Advisors, Province Advisors, Chapter Advisors and the Board Chairs plus their respective Boards. In addition, many key active alumni play critical leadership roles in supporting the ongoing development of the fraternity.
About Me
Born and raised a ?Hoosier,? I am very proud that the Fraternity?s International Headquarters are in my backyard. My background and experiences are broad and diverse, ranging from the EMS field to teaching in the outdoors. After a successful career as a rescue medic and two years with Indiana University & Bradford Woods, I went to Boston to work with the Greater Boston United Way and Massachusetts Easter Seals to develop and promote a summer program for disadvantaged youth and children with physical disabilities. Upon returning home to Indiana, I rekindled my relationship with Bradford Woods and spent my time in administration promoting and developing Bradford Woods and its staff in the fields of Leadership, Outdoor Experiential Education and Summer Camping. In 2000, I was charged with the responsibility to create new business practices, overhaul client management and implement a new department that focused on partnerships, sales and marketing. During my tenure at Bradford Woods I was asked to facilitate and present to future leaders, staffs and outdoor professionals around the country focusing on spirited conversations and activities looking at best practices.
In the spring of 2006, I reaped the benefits of a defining moment and chose to leave Bradford Woods and focus on my family and passion of sharing stories, facilitating and presenting to a very diverse audience. With Frater Chris Niles, we founded The Tributary Circle, a collection of talented individuals to consult, train and educate. The final piece of the puzzle occurred in 2007 when I was asked to join Tau Kappa Epsilon as the Director of Programs. Since then, I have been blessed with the trust of additional areas to support and develop.
What I Like To Do in My Free Time
Spend time with my two very energetic boys, Silas and Ezra. I enjoy doing the ?Dad Thing.? Playing games, eating ice cream, watching my boys grow into young men. I also enjoy reading, attending social events, watching stock car racing and cheering on the Indianapolis Colt?s. (Yes, I remember the 2 and 14 years?)
